GRAPE VARIETY
Gewurztraminer 100%
TASTING NOTES
The Gewürztraminer Grand Cru comes from the oldest vineyards (30 to 50 years old) of the property, located on the hills surrounding the village of Bergheim. The present terrain consists of a very marked mineral profile, as well as a geological variety developed over the course of the natural phenomena of history. It is produced exclusively with Gewürztraminer grapes harvested and selected entirely by hand at the beginning of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Equipped with a beautiful bright straw yellow color, it rotates in the glass with a beautiful consistency that heralds all the aromatic intensity that distinguishes it. The intoxicating sweetness of the Mirabelle compote is immediately evident in the intense nose of this Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim 20215. That medium sweetness is surrounded on the palate by the pleasant bitterness of the cooked plum peel and made juicy by the expressive cluster fruit. This wine is round, generous and decisive. Ideal for an aperitif, with foie gras, aged cheeses and desserts with exotic fruit. Perfect to accompany spicy and sweet and sour dishes of Thai, Chinese and Indian cuisine.

Gustave Lorentz Discover Cantina Gustave Lorentz in Alsace and its fine wines in our online store In Alsace, more precisely in the village of Bergheim, the Lorentz family has been involved in wine production for 250 years . In fact, in 1863 Charles Lorentz founded the winery moved by an incredible passion for the wine world. The vineyards are located on the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim and Kanzlerberg . It is thanks to a great passion handed down from generation to generation that the company still maintains very high quality levels today. According to the production philosophy, the essence of the wines is the result of the intimate and close relationship between vines, territory and climate. Currently the property includes 33 hectares and is entrusted to the sixth generation of the Lorentz family. Riesling , Pinot Grigio , Gewürztraminer and other varieties in the Altenberg hills express their typicality, year after year. The recognition for this perseverance took place in 1983, with the classification of these vineyards as " Gran Cru ".
