TASTING NOTES
La Truffière is an AOP Côtes du Rhône wine made from a combination of various grape varieties including Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier and Clairette. The vineyards, cultivated on limestone scree on cool, shady slopes in the southern Côtes du Rhône, are between 35 and 55 years old. The grapes are harvested at different stages of ripeness, some of them late, to create a wine that balances a wide range of aromas. Spontaneous fermentation takes place at low temperatures to preserve the fruit component as much as possible. After about 6 months of maturation on the lees at a controlled temperature, the wine reveals all its sensory characteristics with depth and complexity. With a jade hue fading to a golden blonde, La Truffière offers a floral and mineral bouquet. The palate is rich and complex, with notes of sweet quince paste, yellow-fleshed fruit, bold spices, acacia honey and calcareous minerality. Softness and refinement meet in a harmonious balance that makes this wine unique, positioning it among the great white wines of the Rhone Valley and southern Burgundy.
