TASTING NOTES
The Orione 2022 wine from Colle di Maggio is made with a careful selection of Merlot and Syrah grapes, handpicked in mid-September. After a brief cold maceration, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled steel containers. Once fermentation is complete, the wines are transferred to cement barrels, where they rest on the fine lees for at least 12 months. The aging process continues with an additional 4 months in the bottle. In appearance, Orione presents an intense ruby red color, accompanied by purple reflections. On the nose, it offers a fresh and fruity bouquet of crunchy red fruits, enriched by spicy notes of cloves, wild strawberries from Nemi, and raspberry, leading to a delicately bloody finish. On the palate, it stands out for its balance, with well-integrated tannins, good minerality, and pleasant sapidity. This Lazio IGP wine pairs perfectly with dishes such as roasted lamb, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
