TASTING NOTES
The Pinot Gris Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim comes from the oldest vineyards (30 to 50 years old) of the property, located on the hills surrounding the village of Bergheim. The terrain consists of a very marked mineral profile, as well as a geological variety developed over the course of the natural phenomena of history. The grapes, once harvested by hand and pressed whole, undergo a very slow fermentation, thanks to indigenous yeasts, in large oak barrels. Following the aging of the wines takes place on the fine lees for 12 months in large oak barrels. At sight, the wine obtained is intense and bright golden yellow. On the nose, it is elegantly expressed on nuances of honey, ripe yellow fruit, flowers and aromatic herbs, with a strong mineral note. On the palate, the wine relaxes with wonderful structure and tension on notes of dried fruit, honey and wax. Suitable for pairing with foie gras, Pekingese lacquered duck, aged cheeses and exotic fruit. Great aging potential.
