TASTING NOTES
The Elle wine is the flagship product of Laura De Vito's company. The vineyards extend between 500 and 600 metres above sea level in Lapio, Avellino. The grapes used to produce Elle are selected from all the vineyards, with the percentage of grapes from each plot varying according to the vintage. This guarantees a consistent and representative product over time. This section explains the origin of the name: Elle, which stands for the initial of Lapio. The 2022 vintage in Irpinia was characterised by favourable climatic conditions that favoured an abundant production of high-quality grapes. Moderate temperatures and well-distributed rainfall contributed to a balanced and homogeneous ripening of the grapes, guaranteeing wines rich in aromas, flavours and well-balanced acidity. The Fiano grapes are harvested by hand in the second week of October and immediately taken to the cellar for soft pressing. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks and then matured for a minimum of nine months in steel. Elle is then bottled and aged for at least 15 months before release. The wine displays aromas of lime, pear, hazelnut, mint and mountain herbs, which are softened by the long maturation process.

Laura De Vito's winery is located in Lapio, in the historic heart of Irpinia, in the province of Avellino. Fiano di Avellino Docg is produced in this area, and the winery's 10 hectares are painstakingly zoned by oenologist Vincenzo Mercurio. In addition to the company's flagship wine, Elle, the winery produces three Cru wines, in limited quantities, from three distinct areas with very different characteristics: VERZARE, ARIANIELLO and SAUDONI. The wines produced are vinified and matured in steel vats, in order to exalt, thanks also to long ageing in the bottle, the peculiar characteristics of each soil. All work in the vineyard and cellar is scrupulously supervised by Laura de Vito and her husband Carmine de Maria, following the meticulous indications of the house oenologist.
