TASTING NOTES
Ferreira Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) is a high quality Port wine that combines the unique characteristics of the year in which it was harvested with the convenience of being ready for tasting shortly after aging in glass. Porto LBV are wines produced from a single harvest and bottled between the 4th and 6th year thereafter. The grapes, picked by hand at an optimal level of ripeness, are vinified in the two cellars Quinta do Seixo and Quinta da Leda, in line with the more traditional production method of the Port. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature and is stopped with the addition of grape alcohol. This gives the final product, naturally sweet and rich, a splendidly concentrated bouquet. The wines selected for Ferreira Late Bottled Vintage are aged in oak barrels in cellars with ideal humidity and temperature. The gradual and balanced evolution of this wine is constantly monitored by Ferreira's team of oenologists. The product is usually bottled in its 4th year, stabilized in a natural way. For this reason it can acquire a deposit over time. The color is intense red, almost opaque. Complex bouquet with prevalence of balsamic notes, resin, ripe red berry fruit and a slight hint of floral notes of basil. Excellent harmony and complexity. Elegant aromas of balsamic notes, well balanced acidity level. A refined and persistent finish.
