TASTING NOTES
The Gustave Lorentz Crémant d’Alsace Brut now features a refreshed label design that further highlights the elegance of this classic Alsatian sparkling wine, crafted using the traditional méthode champenoise. Sourced from the clay-limestone soils of Bergheim, Alsace, this Crémant is a skilful blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a small percentage of Pinot Gris, matured on lees for at least 18 months, imparting structure and complexity. Visually, it shows a bright straw yellow colour with clear, fine, and persistent bubbles, offering a striking visual preview of its fresh and lively palate. The nose reveals elegant and fragrant notes of white-fleshed fruit such as green apple and lemon, complemented by biscuity aromas of brioche, toasted almonds, and a subtle mineral complexity, resulting in a refined and captivating aromatic experience. On the palate, it is fresh, dry, and crisp, with a fine mousse that enhances the vibrancy of each sip. The medium-bodied wine balances the softness of Chardonnay, the delicacy of Pinot Blanc, and the distinctive persistence from Pinot Noir, culminating in a pleasantly biscuity and lightly mineral finish. Ideal as a sophisticated aperitif or accompanying light fish dishes — such as a refined dill-marinated salmon gravlax — it is best served chilled between 5 and 7 °C to showcase its qualities. Gustave Lorentz winery is committed to sustainable innovation, expanding its vineyard area and considering biodynamic conversion alongside introducing a technologically advanced bottling line for the 2025 harvest, ensuring ever higher quality and care. This new edition of the Crémant d’Alsace Brut stands as a modern and elegant choice, with refreshed packaging reflecting the unique style and quality of this highly successful Alsatian classic. Perfect for refined aperitifs, light cocktails, and delicate fish pairings.
