TASTING NOTES
The 2016 vintage in Valpolicella was characterized by a cold but dry winter, a rainy and cool spring until May and therefore a not particularly hot summer, which however ended in a pleasant autumn with high temperatures and good ventilation, precisely in the decisive months for optimal technical-phenolic maturation. The Amarone San Giorgio 2016 is a deep wine with great extract, a lively and intense red and vigorous tannins of good maturity. With an important alcoholic component, and clear, intense and penetrating fruity aromas. An exceptional vintage for Amarone della Valpolicella: great character and excellent evolutionary potential, deservedly among the best vintages of Amarone della Valpolicella. It goes well with structured dishes, such as roast meats, game, matured cheeses, braised meats. It should be served at room temperature, preferably placed in a carafe and decanted a few hours before.
