TASTING NOTES
The harvest 2020 in Valpolicella was characterized by a strong reduction in yield; in fact, the consortium decided on a 20% reduction and the area was also marked by violent hailstorms which resulted in a further 5% reduction. The winter was dry but the rainy spring rebalanced the water reserves of the soil, allowing for a good vegetative recovery. The intense heat of early summer accelerated the ripening processes of the grapes which were slowed down by thunderstorms and the lowering of temperatures at the end of August, allowing for a more complete and harmonious ripening and therefore the start of the harvest around 10 September, in in line with tradition. The harvest was enlarged with a great work of sorting in the vineyard to maintain the high quality of this Valpolicella Classico and of all the products of the Boscaini company. Wine with a ruby red color, it expresses marked hints of fresh fruit on the nose, soft tones and softness on the palate with returns of fruity sensations dominated by cherry. This Valpolicella is the ideal accompaniment to Italian first courses. We recommend serving at room temperature.
