CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET 1er CRU
Côte de Beaune
GRAPE VARIETY
Chardonnay
TASTING NOTES
This Premier Cru is located in Les Petits Clos, facing east-west, in the heart of the appellation on an area of 2 hectares. These red, rich, calcareous-clayey soils, calcified by deeply rooted vines, planted in 1950, give the wine the softness of great white wines, underlined and balanced by a beautiful mineral structure. 14 months of sur lie aging in oak barrels reveal the natural qualities of this exceptional wine. Its youth fascinates, being a full, long wine, with notes of flowers, yellow fruit and citrus. Its aging capacity amazes. A true metamorphosis. As soon as it is poured into the glass it takes a few minutes to open, but as soon as it is poured it reveals surprising, rich and warm aromas. In the mouth it shows a surprising freshness for the 2018 vintage, and as always it shows a great propensity for aging. The great minerality combined with the creaminess and lemon notes are pleasantly balanced. Drink by 2035.
