TASTING NOTES
Exposure on the south-east side of the high hills of La Roche de Vergisson. Its surface is one hectare, on a cadastral land called Sur La Roche. The shallow soil is made up of limestone from the Jurassic era. The 40-50 year old vines are located on a very mineral strip of land. The bunches are harvested by hand and immediately brought to pressing. After racking, the must is left to ferment directly in French oak barrels. The wine rests sur lies until the following August. Following regular battonages and topping up, once the malolactic fermentation is over, the wine passes to the draft; the assembly is then done, a light filtering and bottling. Distinct toast and a touch of vanilla speak openly of oak on the nose. The palate also carries that toastiness but in a precise fashion on a taut, concentrated palate that brims with freshness. There is the slightest perfume overtone of pine resin and a gorgeous headiness that finish in cool, cool freshness. The texture is rounded but freshness holds sway. Wonderful. Drink from 2023 to 2030.
