CHABLIS GRAND CRU
La Côte Chablisienne
GRAPE VARIETY
Chardonnay
TASTING NOTES
Bougros is a very expressive and highly concentrated Grand Cru, thanks to its perfect exposure. It overlooks the city of Chablis, is the most northerly Grand Cru of all and is exposed to the South / West. The 2016 vintage was a year marked by many climatic events in Chablis, but this Grand Cru Bougros was only touched by a hailstorm. A perfect summer gave healthy, ripe, balanced grapes and a rainless harvest. This 2016 was totally vinified and aged in French oak barrels. For the refinement 20% of the used barriques were new. On the nose the classic aromas of citrus and white flowers stand out, in the mouth we find ripe fruit, great intensity and a long persistence. The aging potential of this 2016 is very interesting due to a good richness / acidity balance, so we suggest you to open this bottle not before the 2021 until the following 15 years. This Grand Cru will be perfect with second courses based on savory meat and fish; ideal with medium-aged mountain cheeses.
