TASTING NOTES
For over three decades, Kendall-Jackson has been committed to making only high-quality wines from grapes grown in California's coastal vineyards. The climates and types of soil for each vine are carefully matched, subsequently each batch of vineyard is kept separate during the entire winemaking process. This approach of winemaking has earned Kendall-Jackson worldwide fame as an excellent producer of wines that consistently stand out for their rich, intense and very balanced flavors. The dynamic aromas of raspberry and spices of the grapes grown in Mendocino County and Sonoma County are certainly the hallmark of this 2019 Zinfandel. In fact the vines are very old, grown in gravelly soils and rich in fractured rocks, developing important root systems to plants that produce few clusters with great aromatic potential and rich in chalky tannins. The grapes from the Mendocino, Sonoma and Lake counties ferment separately and their refinement lasts 10 months in French and American oak barriques. The final assembly provides the right combination of flavors, aromas and complexity that differentiate these 3 typical California territories. The flavors of plum, raspberry jam and blackberry are supported by the solid chalky tannins of this Zinfandel. Warm notes of cedar and spices linger on this captivating and long-lasting wine.
