For over three decades, Kendall-Jackson has remained relentlessly committed to producing only the highest quality wines from grapes grown in the cool coastal vineyards of California. They carefully match micro-areas to soil types for each grape variety, then process each vineyard plot separately throughout the winemaking process. Their approach to winemaking has earned them a worldwide reputation as producers of rich, complex yet balanced wines. Prior to destemming, the grapes are cold-pressed to ensure freshness and aromas. Fermentation in French barriques adds complexity to the wine, while the long maturation sur lie with battonnage lends the typical sumptuousness to this Californian Chardonnay. It is also matured 6 months in French (4.5% new) and American (6.5% new) oak. Wonderfully integrated tropical flavours such as pineapple, mango and papaya, with citrus notes that explode in the mouth. These flavours delicately intertwine with aromas of vanilla and honey to create depth and balance. A hint of toasted oak and butter completes the long, lingering finish.
