Appellation d'origine contrôlée
This Gewurztraminer is located in the south / south-east, facing the slopes of Bergheim where the soil is strongly calcareous. The marl and calcareous residues on the surface allow this naturally late variety to mature uniformly, even during the dry summer period. In its first two years in the bottle the floral aromas are predominant, while with the passing of the years in the bottle the fantastic mineral hints given by the limestone soil take over. Traditionally it is enjoyed as an aperitif, with cheeses with an intense flavor, or with desserts. However, giving it time and therefore maturity, it goes perfectly with lobster. Gewurztraminer is very pleasant when tasted young, but has excellent aging potential (from 10 to 15 years in its best years).
