TASTING NOTES
The Ried Grassnitzberg was the first vineyard owned by the family, the first vineyard that the founder Josef Tement planted. The old vines face south-east and are deeply rooted in a 16 million year old coral reef. In this vineyard the grapes reach their full maturity much later than in all the other vineyards, and it is precisely this slow and long ripening that gives them aromas and structure that are decidedly typical of the Grassnizberg terroir. After spontaneous fermentation of 18 months in neutral wooden barrels, the wine is bottled unfiltered. The slight reduction notes that characterized this 2016 until 2020 have now disappeared, immediately showing all the aromatic expression. What you discover when you bring the glass to the nose is a wonderfully fresh, lively and creamy wine with notes of grass, lemon and summer flowers. On the palate it shows concentration and depth despite its dry lightness. Elegance and harmony are perceived from the first sip. Fundamental this small refinement in the bottle that made it, on the threshold of 2021, perfect with a savory pie or with a light and crunchy fried vegetables. Drinking from 2020-2030
