TASTING NOTES
The vineyards of the Estate L'Illuminata are located at an average altitude of 250 meters above sea level facing south-west and lying on sedimentary soil of Miocene origin, sandy-limestone. The 2007 wine year had a very particular climatic trend, with a particularly mild winter, a not very hot summer, with little rainfall and a harvest that was quantitatively lower than average but qualitatively excellent. The harvest was slightly anticipated, in fact the Nebbiolo was harvested starting from September 20th, with ripe and perfectly healthy grapes. Barolo Tebavio is a dense and well-extracted expression of Nebbiolo with tones of red fruit, plum, sweet vanilla and ground coffee. The wine feels supple yet dense with a smooth texture and a soft, silky feel. Like many wines of the 2007 vintage, it requires less aging (about five years) to reach its optimal consumption window. The color is bright intense garnet red with slight orange reflections, the nose is broad, intense, with notes reminiscent of violet, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, cherry; the taste is full, harmonious, slightly dry with a persistent aftertaste with floral and licorice notes.
