GRAPE VARIETY
Kerner 100%
TASTING NOTES
Being a frost-resistant vine, Kerner is grown at the highest altitudes of Val Venosta and Val d'Isarco, between 550 and 800 m a.s.l. on debris and sunny slopes. It is a cross between Schiava and Riesling which owes its name to the German poet Julius Kerner. The 2021 vintage was characterized in the valley floor by a delay of all the phenological phases while the higher vineyards, where the climatic conditions were more linear, produced beautiful, healthy, ripe and not late grapes. The grapes for this 2021 were in fact harvested at the beginning of October. Fermentation and aging were carried out in steel tanks, to maintain the varietal characteristics of these grapes unaltered. The color is straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is intense, aromatic, with hints of peach and apricot, with spicy notes reminiscent of nutmeg. The flavor is dry, full, savory and fresh. With its fullness and aromatic qualities, it is the ideal companion for light appetizers, summer salads, asparagus or grilled fish, with a delicate cut or fresh cheeses. It is also an ideal wine for an aperitif, if you don't want bubbles.
