TASTING NOTES
Lagrein, a typical South Tyrolean grape variety, grows and matures in the Bolzano basin and in the Gries district. The vines are more than 80 years old and are located at about 300 m asl. The considerable temperature variations between day and night together with the sandy and loose alluvial soils, give life to a complex wine with intense colors and characterized by the typical freshness. The 2021 harvest began in early October. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in steel, to preserve all the varietal aromas. The color is intense ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is broad, energetic, with fruity hints of ripe cherries and blackberries, and floral hints of violet and lilac, which close a typical note of cocoa and spices. The taste is intense and persistent, with a good tannic structure, elegant and savory. Perfect match with speck, mixed cured meats, red meats and game.
